Creating the Primary Logo
The primary logo for Landlocked Heart features a mermaid entwined around a traditional padlock—an original, hand-drawn mark designed to embody both strength and longing. The mermaid’s form is fluid but grounded, echoing the motion of waves while wrapping tightly around the lock—a symbol of guarded emotion, memory, and place.
The illustration draws influence from vintage tattoo art and maritime iconography, with bold lines and high-contrast shapes that translate seamlessly across print and apparel. The padlock anchors the piece both thematically and visually, representing emotional restraint and the weight of distance.
